III. Skills

Based on Skills Assessment Summary (The Art of Building Windmills, Graduate Employment Unit, 1999), I want to share about my skills in the following paragraphs.

On the one hand, as I mentioned in my Interest, Attention to Detail and Questioning/Investigating are my strength. Also, Working Under Pressure, which is extremely vital for a qualified employee, is my other strong ability. In addition, although I like working on my own, I am able to effectively function in a team as Teamwork will help me achieve the best result.

On the other hand, it is necessary for me to develop my communication skills. I am confident that I am good at Mentoring and Negotiating but only in front of few people. Therefore, enhancing Presenting is my priority. There are some ways that probably help me get what I want:

  • Take part in group or team activities at university can help me practice speaking in front of crowd. Also, it gives me the chance to study from people’s innovative and creative ideas (Creativity/Innovation), which is one of my weaknesses.
  • Attend skills classes online  because self-study is the best way to study everything.
  • Apply both of my strong investigative skills (Attention to Detail, Questioning/Investigating) whenever doing research to develop Research skills
  • Make decision on every issue will form the Initiative and by that way, I also learn how to take responsibility for my own choices.
  • Practise makes perfect: It is important for me to gain knowledge from classes as well as online material. Moreover, doing practical assignment frequently will sharp my ability.
